We have the weather to thank for bringing Andy Corbett to Australia.
Andy, the 294th person I’ve met on my quest to have lunch with 500 strangers, was living in London, and, like many Britons, dreaming of warmer climes. So, in 2010, he cleverly moved to Sydney, initially temporarily.
The pull of family in England was strong … but the lure of the sunshine and beach lifestyle in Sydney were even stronger. So Andy decided to turn his temporary move into a permanent one.
It also helped that Andy had met the woman who would later become his wife.
Andy discovered another benefit of being in Australia – plenty of opportunity in his profession of management consulting.
In 2016, Andy founded a consultancy, CorbettPrice, which helps government agencies and companies solve big strategic problems and improve their service delivery. Many of his clients get a return on investment of 10-14 times.
One of the great things about meeting a fellow business owner is that you get the chance to swap ideas. Andy was kind enough to suggest some ways I could expand my copywriting agency, while I was able to offer some tips around PR and communications.
I also discovered Andy was a fan of one of my favourite books – Keith Ferrazzi’s bestseller, Never Eat Alone.
We didn’t.
