Let me share a quick anecdote that is both a cute story and a great bit of networking advice.

On Friday, I had lunch with the wonderful Sree Sathish, the 28th person I’ve met on my quest to have lunch with 500 strangers.

When we met, Sree handed me a drawing (see photo above). As you can see, it was a simple gift, yet it made a big impression on me, for two reasons:

  1. It was personalised – Sree took the time to make a unique gift just for me
  2. It was thoughtful – Sree knew I ran a marketing agency and was very active on social media

With this simple gift, Sree found a way to build a relationship and make herself memorable. What a brilliant bit of networking.
